More than 900 lives were lost in the tragic mass suicides in Jonestown, Guyana in 1978. About The Author
Author Billy Rivers grew up in rough and tumble “big timber” country where wild salmon, deer, elk, bears, and mountain lions abounded. He attended school on the reservation and learned to hunt, fish, fall trees, set chokers, and pull wood from the green chain at the local sawmills. His stories are must reads for all lovers of adventure – young and old alike.

I just finished Escape from Jonestown. I have to admit that I broke out the Kleenex more than once. The story is compelling and powerful and I stayed up most of the night finishing it. I can’t wait to read the sequel.

What a compelling story you have written. It brought tears to my eyes. I learned a lot I didn’t know about the Jonestown affair and then took off on a jungle adventure that was thoroughly captivating and in places riveting. I can’t wait to share your book with my kids. Judging by the cover, I thought this story would be mostly for guys, but I was mistaken. I enjoyed this book as much as my son did and I can’t wait to read the next one. Billy Rivers, you can write!

I just want to tell you that the scene with Rebekah, Carlena, and Gorton when they encounter the jaguar was one of the most powerful action scenes I have read. Masterfully written. I could literally see it unfolding in my mind’s eye and that’s good story telling!
